How to get cheap car insurance rates and low cost car insurance quotes
GENERAL INSURANCE SHOPPING TIPS
1) Take your time and gather information. If you work for a business or organization find out what types of life insurance coverage they offer. Many large companies as a part of their benefit program provide employees with term policies at very low rates.
2) Compare and analyze the specific benefits of certain types of policies within a category. As an example: When buying term insurance assess the value of purchasing a long-term policy vs. that of buying a policy that covers a shorter period of time. Do this by taking into consideration your current needs, future needs, and your present financial status.
3) Ask questions. Check out companies by asking them questions about their policies and by contacting your state insurance department regarding any complaints that may have been filed against them.
4) Remember, the cheapest insurance may or may not be the best buy. As an example: some automobile insurance companies offer vehicle rental coverage for 30 days after a total loss while others offer coverage only until your claim is settled. In the latter situation you may have your reimbursement check in-hand but may not yet have purchased your new vehicle. If this occurs you would have to pay for the remaining days of your auto rental. The second policy may be cheaper to purchase and in general seems to offer the same coverage but upon closer review it gives less coverage than the other.
5) Write down what you expect from your insurance company. Writing it down will help you do two things. First, you can analyze the feasibility of your expectations. Second, it can keep you focused on what is important to you when you are shopping for a policy.
