It's Official - Men Are Terrible Drivers
Even though you see many men drivers on the road than women, the figures do not lie. Men are the real terrible drivers even if they do not admit it. Maybe it is now time to let your girlfriend, wife, or your mom be the driver instead? Hand them the keys so that you could get from point A to point B without making your insurance provider worry much about your high-risk driving.
According to the data provided by the NHTSA or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the road would be safer if more men would be the passengers and stay put behind the driver’s seat.
Yes, this is the truth that all men must accept. More often than not, mean have this pride and ego that they must be the one behind the wheel. Men also boast about their driving prowess as well. There are even times that married men kid around the friends and embarrass their wives about their “stupidity” and inability to drive as well. This is probably because women are more cautious when driving compared to men. Women always anticipate problems ahead compared to the opposite sex especially when driving. This is why they are less likely to meet accidents while driving on the road.
For several years now, almost all insurance providers are aware that men are very terrible and erratic when it comes to driving. And since men are considered as high-risk drivers, insurance companies usually charge them higher than
women.
There is no such thing as the battle of the sexes in getting a cheap insurance rate. Insurance providers are not trying to light up a gender war as well. These companies are only trying to get an accurate price risk as much as possible. By doing this, they would be able to have lower rates to offer to their other clients, both men and women.
In the date given by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it clearly shows the huge difference between the rate of fatal crashes during the year 2005 to 2006. In 2005, there were more than 42,000 men who were involved in a fatal crash. On the other hand, there were only less than 15,000 women who were involved in this type of road crash. A year after the fatal crash rate among men decreased. From 42.947 percent during the preceding year, it declined to 41.49 percent. This is equal to almost 42,000 men driver. Nevertheless, the percentage of fatal crashes among women is still lower. During the 2006, there were only 14,661 women who got involved in fatal crash incidents or
equivalent to 14.43 percent.
